Description

My core interests lie in exploring themes relating to perception and reality. I was struck by an Einstein quote “Reality is merely an illusion, albeit a very persistent one”, I became attracted to the idea there is no concrete reality, merely our perception of it, and I am interested in how our world is purely made up of what is inside us, not outside. We don’t react to the world out there, but rather our perception of it.

At present I am immersed in the connection between psychology and art, particularly visual stimulation aids used in psychoanalysis, such as the Thematic Apperception Test, but predominantly the Rorschach inkblot test. Within my most recent project I have experimented with different ways and using various photographic and reproductive techniques to create my own series of inkblots for my own exploration, the end result is images that rely solely on the response of the individual observer, saying more about the observer than the work itself.
