Eamonn Freel

Over the past three years my work has progressed through the theme of digital audio and visual distortion. My work has shifted away from analogue methods of photography and traditional art and moved towards digital technology and programs. The processes I develop become the art themselves. I like to recycle existing images and videos and use these processes to extract, layer or distort information and show from a new perspective. I like to use found images or videos from mainstream media and re-arrange the data in a new way. I am inspired by many artists whose work involves the same techniques. Artists such as Paul Pfeiffer, Sheena Macrae and Christian Marclay.
