Sandra Erbacher

Every structure carries within itself the potential for its own destruction.

At the heart of Sandra’s practice is a serial logic, which has its starting point in the grid. However, rather than building a series of clearly connected elements, Sandra employs a more heterogenic and unstable logic of seriality. Repetition no longer offers a refuge through organizing the world; instead, it becomes a means of undoing, fragmented, and disruptive. This process is a reflection of her belief that all structures as well as social constructs such as identity, time and space are not fixed but fluid and in a constant process of negotiation and becoming.
