My specialist areas within organics conservation are textiles, ethnography and plant materials. Other areas of interest include anthropology, economic botany and intangible heritage.
Work with the Cuming Museum in Southwark, and The Economic Botany Collection, at The Royal Botanic Gardens in Kew have confirmed these interests; with key projects involving working on a woven banana fibre belt from the Caroline Islands c. 1840, and finishing the course with the conservation of a Jamaican lace-bark bonnet c.1850.
